Council to discuss microchip mandate

Following two months of vigorous public debate, the San Marcos City Council will discuss the mandatory pet microchipping provisions of a new animal control ordinance for the first time since passing it in December.

Hays advances to regional final

Playing defense, as always, the Hays Rebels advanced to the Region III girls championship game with a 48-44 win against Angelton Friday night. The Rebels will play Del Valle for the fourth time this year Saturday for the region title and a berth in the Class 4A state tournament next weekend in Austin.



Harrington wins No. 300 in Bobcat victory

Texas State baseball coach Ty Harrington claimed his 300th win as the head of that program Friday night as Zach Tritz turned in a strong eight-inning start and Keith Prestridge drive in three runs in a 7-4 win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday.
