City issues Summerfest proclamation

San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz recently proclaimed July 4 as San Marcos Summerfest Day, in honor of the annual Independence Day celebration on the San Marcos River.
Summerfest includes live music, a children’s costume parade, booths, food and fireworks. The festival will take place from 5-11 p.m. at San Marcos Plaza Park on July 4.
