The Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has issued an arrest warrant for Bowie Ibarra, a former Lehman High School theater teacher charged with improper relationship between teacher and student, a second degree felony.
On May 26, the Lehman High School administration contacted its school resource officer, who is a Hays County Sheriff’s deputy, about a possible improper relationship between a member of its staff and a student.
The HCSO criminal investigations division detectives began an investigation. Hays County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith signed the arrest warrant Thursday.
Ibarra, 34, resigned on May 26, the day Lehman administrators first asked for the investigation.
Ibarra has not been arrested and the warrant is active. HCSO said no photo of him is available.
