Recently, the San Marcos City Council amended the drought response rules, allowing residents to choose and apply for a different watering day per week. The new rules enable residents to even choose a Saturday or Sunday, if their designated weekdays are unworkable.

Following a contorted process in which a local groundwater district couldn’t agree with local state legislators on a funding bill, Hays County Commissioners appear ready to increase the district’s funding from the county.
The Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing in Kyle, is the setting for two “Ideas Summits” planned for Sept 17. The summits are opportunities for members of the Hays CISD community to share ideas and aspirations for the school district as it begins an intensive five-year planning process.
