Rotary Club welcomes guest speaker

The Rotary Club of San Marcos will welcome guest speaker Liz Carmack on Wednesday from noon-1 p.m. The event will be held at the Price Center Banquet Hall, 222 West San Antonio Street.
Carmack is the author of Historic Texas Hotels, a guide featuring detailed profiles of more than 60 operating hotels across the state. The book is a guide featuring detailed profiles of more than 60 operating historic hotels across Texas.

I have read Carmack’s book and it is invaluable to the Texas traveler who appreciates more than “cookie-cutter” accomodations. I have also heard her speak on several occcasions and she is a delight. I encourage anyone interested in traveling or in the history of Texas’ fine old hotels to put this on their calendar.
