Bobcats cruise past Texas Lutheran

Texas State put the hammer down in the middle stretch of the first half Tuesday night, cruising to a 95-70 men’s basketball win against Texas Lutheran at Strahan Coliseum.



CTMC offers wellness challenge

Earlier this year, Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) gave its employees a unique opportunity to get more fit and healthier with the LoneStart Wellness Challenge. CTMC is now offering the program to the general public, just in time to help with those New Year’s resolutions.



Local trainer to host record fitness event

San Marcos personal health trainer Heath Herrera was selected to locally host what is hoped to be the world’s largest international charity fitness boot camp workout.

Rose draws Democratic primary opponent

Four-term State Representative Patrick Rose (D-Dripping Springs) has drawn an opponent in the March primary. Andrew Backus of Driftwood, a long-time Rose opponent in matters of local groundwater management, filed his intention to run with the Texas Secretary of State on Dec. 15.



Library features kid card event

The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street, is featuring a hand-made thank you card craft event for kids ages five and older on Dec. 30 from 10-11 a.m.
