STAFF REPORT
The Writing Center at Texas State (Flowers Hall G09) has recently introduced drop-in tutoring hours staffed by graduate students in an effort to help improve the writing skills of as many students as possible.
Writing Center Coordinator Sonia Arellano called the drop-in tutoring ““a great new project that is expanding our services.”
The Writing Center has helped students for 25 years. Last year, the center tutored 3,500 students. The center’s goal has always been to help students do their best work through tutoring, workshops and review sessions for the Grammar/Spelling/Punctuation (GSP) Exam.
Writing Center Director Nancy Wilson said drop-in tutoring was initiated after a survey suggested a need for more tutors.
Drop-in tutoring is available Monday-Thursday during these hours:
Monday 2–6 p.m.
Tuesday 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Wednesday 12–4 p.m.
Thursday 3–7 p.m.
