SMHS student meets leaders in Washington

STATE REPORT
San Marcos High School’s (SMHS) Matt Pentelemeimolnar was chosen to be a representative to this year’s National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) in Washington D.C.
Pentelemeimolnar got to meet with policy leaders in Washington. The NYLC program stresses the importance of leadership and the democratic process.
Captain of the soccer team for SMHS, Pentelemeimolnar is a junior. He said he is looking forward to his senior year at school and the search for a college.
Matt met with U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) while in Washington and said, “I am excited to be here and appreciate the opportunity to meet Congressman Doggett.”
Dennis Hastert, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, welcomed the assembled young leaders at the conference this year. Envision EMI, the NYLC sponsors, is an educational organization that draws on speakers and program participants from across the political and ideological spectrum.
