Jepson leaving CTMC, hospital to search for successor

Gary L. Jepson, who directed growth and improvement for nine years as president of Central Texas Medical Center, announced Friday that he is stepping down from the job. Jepson said he wanted to spend more time with family and leave CTMC on a high note.



CTMC to begin HOPE sessions

The Central Texas Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute and the Institute for Healthy Living are starting a support group for victims of stroke and brain injury, their families and caregivers. The first session will take place on Sept. 13.

Texas State announces new physical therapy program

At the end of August a new physical therapy program at Texas State will help some qualified stroke and head injury patients, who could receive therapy twice per week without charge.



CTMC junior volunteers learn lessons, make impressions

While some students were taking a well-deserved rest from their classes this summer, Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) welcomed 40 young people, ages 13-18, onto the hospital campus as part of its Junior Volunteer Program. Each of the students spent five weeks of the summer learning from CTMC staff.



County to give free immunizations in August

The Hays County Personal Health Department is giving free immunizations to children up to age 18 in August, with extended hours at its clinics in San Marcos and Kyle next week.



CTMC observes 50-year anniversary in THA

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC), which opened in 1960, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in the Texas Hospital Association. CTMC is one of six Texas hospitals to reach the milestone this year.
