Bobcats snap two-game losing streak Returning to winning ways, the Texas State men’s basketball team took hold in the last four minutes Saturday afternoon for a 95-88 win against McNeese State at Strahan Coliseum. The Texas State women’s team lost, 77-70, at McNeese State.

Rybak named to all-academic basketball team Texas State senior forward John Rybak earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VI team after posting a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) in his first semester of graduate studies in business administration.

San Marcos and Hays to renew football rivalry A one-time staple of the Hays County athletic scene is coming back for a two-year engagement. The football teams from San Marcos and Hays High Schools will play each other this fall and during the fall of 2011, according to the coaches for both programs.
The Texas State women’s basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 53-44 win at home against Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday night, while the men’s team lost at Southeastern Louisiana to fall into fifth place.

Bobcats ink 12 on football signing day By Wednesday’s national signing day for college football recruits, Texas State had only 12 scholarships to offer. So, the Bobcats signed a small class Wednesday, but head coach Brad Wright hopes the group will fill in gaps here and there.
