Texas State football team: Different or not? By form, the Texas State football team will be different this year. But head coach Brad Wright said Texas State will be the same type of football team. What can it mean? The answers will begin to come on Saturday, when the Bobcats open their season at Houston.

Bobcat soccer team looks to home opener The Texas State soccer team is 1-2 as it prepares for its home opener Friday against California-Riverside. The Bobcats split two games last weekend at the Texas-El Paso Miners Classic.

Bobcats and fall camp, set for season to start Saturday The Texas State football team will start the quest for its third straight winning season Saturday at Houston. The Bobcats closed call camp last week expecting an improved defense, though the situation is unclear at running back, where the Bobcats can’t seem to keep anyone healthy.
The opening of the high school football season did not go well for the San Marcos Rattlers, who made five turnovers and were unable to defend against an experienced passing game in their 42-0 loss to Marble Falls Friday night at Bobcat Stadium.
Wimberley won a thriller, Dripping Springs won a blowout, Hays chalked up a solid win and the San Marcos Academy fell barely short Friday night as high school football kicked off across Texas.
