Meet the first San Marcos baby of 2010

Midnight came and went before the first baby of the New Year in San Marcos made her grand entrance at Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Women’s Center one hour and 19 minutes after midnight on January 1. Hailey Lillianna Hoke became the city’s first resident of a new decade, weighing in at seven pounds, five ounces and measuring 19 inches long. Proud parents Chris and Marissa Hoke are San Marcos residents and this is the first child for both.


CTMC cuts ribbon at grand opening

Last Sunday, Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) cut the ribbon officially opening its new $35 million Women’s Center. Included in the festivities were San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz and State Representative Patrick Rose.

Candy corn has been around for a hundred years or so and, while it is available year-round, it is particularly prevalent at Halloween and harvest time. So, as usual, is a weekend full of fun in and around San Marcos.
