Rattlers rally to win final game

The San Marcos Rattlers won their final game of the season Friday night, scoring 34 points in the fourth quarter to beat Seguin, 51-31. Also, Wimberley clinched the District 8-3A title with a 35-28 win at Fredericksburg.



Lobos to take test at Del Valle

The District 17-4A high school football standings can be jumbled in one of two ways after Lehman plays Friday night at Del Valle. With a win, the Lobos would take over second place in the district.



Hays tries for back-to-back wins

The Hays Rebels will try for their second win in a row Friday night at Lockhart. After starting the season with five straight losses, a win Friday would make Hays 2-0 in District 17-4A. Also Friday night, Dripping Springs will try to break a five-game losing streak against Lampasas, the San Marcos Baptist Academy will play Victoria St. Joseph, and Wimberley is taking a bye week.



Rebels win, Lobos lose to start District 17-4A

The Hays Rebels began the District 17-4A season with their first win of the year Friday night, while a Lehman loss Friday means the Lobos are still looking for their first district win after 20 tries. Meanwhile, Wimberley solidified its position in District 8-3A, Dripping Springs lost for the fifth straight time and San Marcos Baptist Academy dropped its district opener late.



Rattlers need Friday night win

The San Marcos Rattlers enter Friday night’s home game against Kerrville Tivy needing a win to maintain a realistic shot at the high school football playoffs. In addition, Wimberley will try to grow its lead in District 8-3A, Dripping Springs will try to snap a four-game losing streak and San Marcos Baptist will open its district season.



Wimberley in first, Dripping Springs in last

Early in the district season, Wimberley is all alone on top of its district, while Dripping Springs is at the bottom of its district after Friday night’s high school football games.



SMA shoots to stay unbeaten

San Marcos Baptist Academy will try raising its high school football record to 5-0 Friday night, while Wimberley will try to tack on another win in District 8-3A and Dripping Springs will try to snap a three-game losing streak.



Lehman falls in bid for fifth straight win

The Lehman Lobos missed their chance to go 5-0 by a point Friday night, losing to Gonzales, 23-22, at Bob Shelton Stadium. But the Wimberley Texans started their District 8-3A season with a key win against Burnet.



County teams to start district

The high school football teams at Wimberley and Dripping Springs begin district play Friday night, while Hays will try to win for the first time Saturday at Rosenberg Lamar. And the San Marcos Academy Bears are 3-0 heading to Friday night’s game at New Braunfels Christian.
