Texas State to hold hostage crisis training

About 250 officers from law enforcement agencies across Texas, the United States and Canada will converge on Texas State Jan. 12-14 for the Department of Criminal Justice’s annual hostage negotiation training and competition.



‘Calories to Kilowatts’ to be unveiled

Texas State students will learn the balance of power on elliptical machines that will convert a typical 30-minute workout into enough energy to power a laptop computer for an hour.



Student power, literally, at Texas State

Soon, students at Texas State will be able to generate electricity while they workout. The retrofitting of 30 elliptical machines at the Student Recreation Center (SRC) will give the equipment the capability of converting exercise into renewable energy, connecting it to the power grid.



Mariachi academy to compete in San Antonio

The San Marcos Mariachi Academy is preparing for a competition in San Antonio on Friday. In preparation, the academy performed Wednesday night at the San Marcos Public Library.
