Bobcats to hold Maroon vs. Gold game Saturday

The athletic department at Texas State is encouraging tailgating Saturday at Bobcat Stadium, where the annual Maroon vs. Gold football scrimmage will give fans a look at the Bobcats well before the 2010 season.



Bobcats announce 2010 football schedule

Texas State’s 2010 football schedule includes six home games, including five within a span of seven weeks. The Bobcats will open at Houston and close at Sam Houston State, with their first home game on Sept. 11 against Southern Arkansas and their last coming on Nov. 6 against Central Arkansas.



Bobcats begin spring football practice

The Texas State football team began spring drills Monday as they gun for their third straight winning season under head coach Brad Wright. The Bobcats will return six offensive starters, another eight on defense and three kickers. The Maroon-Gold Spring Game is scheduled for March 20.



Texas State signs Wright to three-year extension

Texas State announced Tuesday morning that it has signed head football coach Brad Wright to a three-year contract extension. The university also extended the contracts of four other coaches.

Austin at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats, SFA, McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana now are in a four-way tie for first place in the Southland Conference.

Texas State faces a tough run of four games to end the football season, none tougher than Saturday’s homecoming meeting with Stephen F. Austin, which ranks in the top 15 nationally behind gun-slinging quarterback Jeremy Moses.
