DA brings drug charges against residents in home invasions

Two residents of 926 Chestnut Street, where two intruders were shot dead, now face misdemeanor drug charges, the Hays County District Attorney’s office announced. The DA also announced charges against four other residents in recent San Marcos home invasions that ended with shootings.



Luling teen faces three murder charges

The Luling teenager who left the scene of a botched marijuana heist and returned after all the shots had been fired now faces three counts of murder. A Hays County District grand jury has indicted Frank Castro, 18, for one count of capital murder, two counts of felony murder and one count of aggravated robbery.



Williams says city safe as police arrest intruder

In the wake of the latest arrest for a San Marcos home invasion, San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams said a recent wave of headline violence does not characterize the frequency of violent crime within the city limits.



Police still investigating Chestnut homicides

The Hays County District Attorney’s office said this week that it will not comment as it decides whether to press charges in a botched burglary that ended in the shooting deaths of two people earlier this month.
