Hays County to give Guadalupe residents free immunizations

Hays County will provide free immunizations to Guadalupe County residents at a health fair next week, saying it’s a public health benefit for Hays County residents. A Guadalupe County commissioner said Guadalupe officials were unaware of the initiative.



County provides H1N1 vaccine

Following suggested guidelines from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Hays County Personal Health Department (PHD), following suggested Texas Department of State Health Services guidelines, is now offering the H1N1 vaccine to anyone who wants it.



County opens H1N1 clinic

The Hays County Personal Health Department (PHD) has designated a satellite clinic at 705 West Hopkins Street, Suite 112, San Marcos, to administer free H1N1 vaccinations to residents of Hays County. The clinic will initially focus its small supply of vaccine on those prioritized by the Texas Department of State Health Services as “at risk.”



County runs out of flu vaccine

The Hays County Personal Health Department (PHD) announced that it has exhausted its supply of seasonal flu vaccine and has canceled all of its seasonal flu clinics. Until further notice, flu vaccine is no longer available at PHD clinics in San Marcos and Kyle.



County schedules flu vaccine clinics

Flu virus vaccinations are now being scheduled by the Hays County Personal Health Department. The inoculations that offered for the Hays County Personal Health Clinics (PHCs) are not for the H1N1 virus. They are the vaccinations for seasonal flu.



County offers free immunizations

The Hays County Personal Health Department (PHD) will offer free immunizations at both of its clinics the week of Aug. 10-14. The PHD is sponsoring special back-to-school immunization clinics to help students get ready for school.



HCPHD, CTMC to offer bilingual childbirth classes

The Hays County Personal Health Department (HCPHD) and Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Creative Living Series will offer free childbirth classes starting Aug 7. The classes will be held simultaneously in English and Spanish.



Hays County offers back to school immunizations

The Hays County Personal Health Department (HCPHD) will offer free back-to-school immunizations on July 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Personal Health Clinic.



Hays County sees increase in flu-like symptoms

The Hays County Personal Health Department (HCPHD) reported an increase in flu-like symptoms around the county and is urging citizens to continue taking personal hygiene steps to lessen the severity and spread of what is suspected to be the Novel H1N1 virus.



Hays County urges heat precautions

The Hays County Personal Health Department (HCPHD) is reminding citizens, especially the elderly and those in fragile health, to take precautions against rising temperatures.
