Masonic lodge bestows flags to San Marcos schools

San Marcos Masonic Lodge No. 342 bestowed flags to San Marcos CISD elementary schools in honor of Texas Independence Day and Texas Public Schools Week. The Masons established Texas Public Schools Week in 1950.



Goodnight Middle School celebrates Black History Month

At the end of Black History Month, San Marcos CISD’s Goodnight Middle School held a day-long celebration of events including music, art and poetry.



Phoenix students graduate at Lamar Annex

Last Friday, the Phoenix Academy celebrated the graduation of 30 students at the Lamar Annex. The event had a standing-room-only crowd as the students received their diplomas.



DeZavala Art Walk shows student art

De Zavala Elementary School became a mini-Louvre with more than 400 pieces of student artwork from 24 De Zavala Elementary classrooms on display last week. The work was displayed for the school’s annual Art Walk. Pieces were on public display on December 10 and 11.

The San Marcos CISD Superintendent’s Student of the Month have “Rattler” positive traits. This fall, Superintendent Patty Shafer began a new recognition program, the Superintendent’s Student of the Month, to celebrate a student who represents the district in an exemplary way.

Pathfinder Learning Center graduated 21 seniors on June 3, in a ceremony held in the San Marcos High School auditorium.
