Rattlers hit pre-district season the hard way

The San Marcos High School baseball team isn’t afraid of competition during their stretch of games leading to the District 17-4A season, and with pitchers like Blake Bagley and Ryan Schweers, head coach Bryan Webb likes his chances. The Rattlers are playing this weekend in the Brenham Tournament after finishing their own tournament last weekend with a big 4-3 win against New Braunfels.



Rattlers place 15 on all-district grid teams

The San Marcos High School football team, which finished the 2009 season with a 3-6 record, still placed 15 players on All-District 27-4A teams due to the individual skills of the players and the overall competitiveness of the ball club.

Rattlers win for first time in a year

In the spirit of recent rains that have soothed one of the worst local droughts in history, the San Marcos Rattlers claimed their first high school football win in a year Friday night, taking the measure of their mirror image in a 33-0 decision against Lampasas at Bobcat Stadium.
