City of San Marcos Public Services Coordinator Jo Secrest was recognized by the city for her recent honors from the San Marcos River Foundation. The river foundation honored Secrest for coordinating hazardous waste collection in the city.

San Marcos Councilmember Chris Jones decided to vote Tuesday after his February abstention deadlocked a $610,000 incentive package for an apartment complex on the edge of downtown. Jones voted for the incentives, which passed by a 4-3 vote.

The San Marcos City Council will reconsider a $610,000 property tax rebate for a developer who wants to place a multi-family residential complex on the west side of downtown. The council deadlocked, 3-3, on the issue last week.



Slowly, city approaches downtown streetscaping

A downtown San Marcos streetscaping project, which still needs to be fully funded, would begin in combination with a drainage project on Hutchison Street and North LBJ Drive. The project will reduce parking spaces while widening and beautifying sidewalks.
