Bobcats begin spring football practice

The Texas State football team began spring drills Monday as they gun for their third straight winning season under head coach Brad Wright. The Bobcats will return six offensive starters, another eight on defense and three kickers. The Maroon-Gold Spring Game is scheduled for March 20.



Defense, George carry Bobcats past SFA

The Texas State defense shut down Stephen F. Austin’s prolific offense, while Texas State quarterback Bradley George threw for 324 yards and four touchdowns Saturday afternoon, leading the Bobcats to an unquestionable 28-7 win against Stephen F. Texas State freshman kicker Justin Garelick is the Southland Conference special teams player of the week after kicking two fourth quarter field goals to push the Bobcats past Northwestern State last Saturday.

Squeaking past Northwestern State on the road Saturday afternoon, the Texas State football team has set up a homecoming showdown fpr the Southland Conference lead against Stephen F. Austin on Halloween at Bobcat Stadium.

Showing up with a balanced, high-powered offense, the Texas State football team broke a two-game losing streak Saturday afternoon with a 34-28 win at Nicholls State.



Bobcats collapse in 51-50 loss to start SLC

Texas State blew a 24-point lead in the fourth quarter on its home field Saturday, losing to Southeastern Louisiana, 51-50, in overtime in the Southland Conference opener for both teams. The Bobcats fall to 2-3 overall with their second straight loss.



Bobcats fall, 38-16, at Southern Utah

Texas State’s football team was unable to avenge last year’s loss to Southern Utah. The Thunderbirds hung up a 38-16 win on their home field in Cedar City, UT.



George sets passing mark as Bobcats cruise

Texas State quarterback Bradley George set the school’s all-time passing yardage record Saturday night as the Bobcats trounced Texas Southern, 52-18, at Bobcat Stadium. Next up for the Bobcats is a trip to Southern Utah next Saturday.
