PEC approves new capital improvements policies

Pedernales Electric Cooperative directors approved a set of policies this week, giving the board much more authority over the cooperative’s expenditures.



PEC says co-op ‘not for sale’

Pedernales Electric Cooperative’s (PEC) board of directors made it clear Tuesday that the largest co-op in America is not for sale. The board made the declaration after meeting in executive session to discuss an offer made by New Jersey-based Quentin Capital Management LLC to purchase PEC. Quentin Capital also made an offer to buy PEC in 2008.



PEC reduces power rates

Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) members will pay a reduced rate for electricity beginning with bills issued on or after Dec. 1. PEC provides electricity for all Hays County residents, except for those within the San Marcos city limits.



PEC adopts Robert’s Rules, alters committees

The Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) Board of Directors voted to adopt Roberts Rules of Order during its meeting in Johnson City on July 20. Specifically, the board will abide by the rules regarding “Procedures in Small Boards,” from Robert’s tenth edition.



PEC seats new board officers

Elected to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative board of directors only on June 20, Larry Landaker and Cristi Clement, respectively, were elected president and vice president of the board at a June 29 meeting.

Cristi Clement and Larry Landaker won tight elections to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative board of directors during the weekend, while Patrick Cox was unopposed for his local seat.
