Bobcats announce 2010 football schedule

Texas State’s 2010 football schedule includes six home games, including five within a span of seven weeks. The Bobcats will open at Houston and close at Sam Houston State, with their first home game on Sept. 11 against Southern Arkansas and their last coming on Nov. 6 against Central Arkansas.



Texas State signs Wright to three-year extension

Texas State announced Tuesday morning that it has signed head football coach Brad Wright to a three-year contract extension. The university also extended the contracts of four other coaches.

Only five luxury suites remain at Bobcat Stadium

Texas State’s athletic department has announced that only five of 15 luxury suites being built at Bobcat Stadium remain available for the 2009 football season.



Bobcats win fourth Commissioner’s Cup

With five conference championships this school year, Texas State was awarded the Commissioner’s Cup by the Southland Conference. The Bobcats have won the trophy for overall excellence within the league for the fourth time. Texas State also won the women’s All-Sports Trophy for the ninth straight time and for the 11th time overall.



Teis touts athletic achievements

Texas State Athletic Director Larry Teis published an open letter on the school’s athletic website touting the athletic department’s accomplishments this spring and, by extension, during the entire school year.



NCAA certifies Texas State Athletics Department

The NCAA Division I Committee on Athletics Certification announced that Texas State’s Department of Athletics has been certified as operating its athletics program in “substantial conformity with operating principles adopted by the Division I membership.”
