Rattlers outlast Lehman in girls basketball

After ripping up the scoreboard in the first quarter Tuesday night, the San Marcos High School girls basketball team held slim leads all the way to the end for a 49-45 win at Lehman. The Rattlers improved to 2-3 in District 17-4A, moving into a tie with Lehman, which has the same district record.

Hays CISD students get AP Scholar Awards

Meera Day, a senior at Lehman High School (LHS), qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams, plus grades of 3 or higher or four or more of these exams. Seven LHS students and eight Hays High School (HHS)students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams, with grades of 3 or higher.



Hays CISD has remaining dates for flu vaccine

The seasonal flu vaccine is now available for uninsured or under-insured students and their siblings in Hays CISD.

Lyon roars with praise for Hays CISD

The air crackled with energy and excitement at Lehman High School gymnasium last month when new Superintendent Jeremy Lyon praised many of the pillars of the Hays CISD community at the school district’s annual convocation.



Flash distributes HCISD superhero awards

At the annual convocation for Hays CISD employees on Aug. 19, t20 teachers were singled out for innovation in the classroom. Nearly $20,000 in teaching grants was awarded by the Hays CISD Education Foundation.



‘State’ legislators scheduled to speak

Five Hays County high schools sent a total of 12 students to participate in the American Legion’s Boys State or its counterpart Bluebonnet Girls State. Those students will share their experiences during a program at the San Marcos American Legion Hall at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13.
