Bobcats ink 12 on football signing day

By Wednesday’s national signing day for college football recruits, Texas State had only 12 scholarships to offer. So, the Bobcats signed a small class Wednesday, but head coach Brad Wright hopes the group will fill in gaps here and there.



Retiring police officer honored

San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz recently honored Corporal Frank Calabrese on his retirement from the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD). In addition to being the first School Resource Officer at San Marcos High School, Calabrese is also a founder of the Christian Federation of Police Officers-Police Athletics League (CFPO-PAL), which serves thousands of local children.



Luling teen faces three murder charges

The Luling teenager who left the scene of a botched marijuana heist and returned after all the shots had been fired now faces three counts of murder. A Hays County District grand jury has indicted Frank Castro, 18, for one count of capital murder, two counts of felony murder and one count of aggravated robbery.
