Philosophy dialogue to take up evolution, identity

Three Texas State philosophers will be joined by professors from six other university departments, along with academics from the University of Chicago and Hofstra University as Texas State’s Philosophy Dialogue Series takes up evolution and identity for the next two weeks.



Philosophers to discuss technology in dialogues

Next week’s Philosophy Dialogue Series at Texas State will take up philosophy, technology and science fiction in a series of lectures.



Noted author ZZ Packer to read at Porter House

The Katherine Anne Porter House at 508 Center Street in Kyle will present a reading by ZZ Packer on Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The event is cosponsored by the Texas State University Department of English. The reading is free and open to the public.



Noted journalist Brody to speak at library

Jane Brody, the Personal Health columnist for the New York Times and principal author of more than a dozen books, will speak at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street, on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.



‘What Isn’t, Is’ at Texas State

An art exhibit called “What Isn’t, Is” is showing at Texas State from March 10 to April 7.
