When Bowie Elementary School completed its Great Turkey Race for the Hays County Food Bank, the school’s students had raised $628 to give Thanksgiving meals to families in Hays County. It is enough to feed 31 families for Turkey Day.
The Phoenix Learning Center recently held a graduation ceremony for some of its students.
San Marcos CISD administrators, professionals and paraprofessionals are going out in teams to visit with student drop-outs in their homes. They offer a variety of options for the students to complete their high school diploma work.
Even in the midst of scurrying around, moving the Phoenix Learning Center to its new locale and preparing for a busy new school year, San Marcos CISD administrators still found time to arrange a special graduation.
Last week, the staff of San Marcos CISD marched to the beat of a different drummer during the school district’s annual Convocation ceremony to begin the new school year.
Monday was a day for wearing new school clothes, meeting new teachers, riding the buses and eating PB&J’s from shiny new lunch boxes. It also stood to be a bit confusing for parents and students alike as schedules are rearranged and multi-tasking becomes a blur.
Back to School Nights at the various San Marcos CISD campuses are slated for next week.
