Williams says city safe as police arrest intruder

In the wake of the latest arrest for a San Marcos home invasion, San Marcos Police Chief Howard Williams said a recent wave of headline violence does not characterize the frequency of violent crime within the city limits.

San Marcos police say they don’t anticipate filing charges against a Chestnut Street resident whose gun shots killed two Luling teenagers in a bungled home invasion early Friday morning. Police have charged a third Luling teen with aggravated robbery, while a fourth Luling teen is hospitalized with serious wounds.
