CVB to hold ribbon cutting

An open house and ribbon cutting will be held Thursday for the renovated San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau located at the southbound Interstate-35 access road and Riverside Drive next to the City of San Marcos Nature Center.



City announces road work for week

Train blocks downtown traffic

A train stopped on the tracks in the heart of San Marcos, wreaking havoc on rush-hour traffic for more than an hour Friday afternoon. San Marcos police said the train was having brake issues and an emergency stop was required to check them.



Cause of Hopkins Street geyser unknown – Updated

By the time city crews shut off a 50-feet high geyser at Hopkins Street and C.M. Allen Parkway late Monday afternoon, they had yet to determine the cause or extent of the damage from a punctured water main.



Crews to start work at Riverside-Cheatham intersection

Traffic on Riverside Drive will be directed one-way eastbound between Cheatham Street and Haynes Street as the city continues a wastewater project that started in October.
