Springtown Mall proposal remains in negotiations

The amounts and the recipients for a proposed Springtown Mall incentive from the city have changed, but San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz said the city would no longer be out money up front and the goal remains of rescuing Springtown from blight.

The City of San Marcos capital improvements department is soon to embark on improvements for the Rio Vista neighborhood, which will include new waterlines, new wastewater lines, storm drains, streets, curbs and sidewalks.

New Walker’s Gallery exhibit to open Saturday

The opening reception for the “Hands-on” exhibit at the Walker’s Gallery will take place at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins Street, from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Activity Center hours.



Arts Council invites artists to submit works

Artists in the area are invited to submit their interpretation of the theme “Hands On” for an upcoming exhibit at the Walkers Gallery at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 East Hopkins Street. The exhibit is sponsored by the San Marcos Area Arts Council.
