Academy tabs Davis as football coach

Former San Marcos High School and Texas State football player Les Davis is the new football coach at San Marcos Baptist Academy. Davis most recently served for five years as head football coach at New Braunfels Canyon, where his teams went 40-25 with a trip to the state quarterfinals.



Two SMHS musicians honored by city

Two San Marcos High School musicians were recently honored by San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz and the city council. Katy Whitbeck and Dwaylan Applewhite are becoming pretty familiar names around town as they receive many well deserved honors.



Diamond Line dance team sweeps competition with top honors

The Diamond Line dance team for San Marcos High School came away from the Austin Drill Team Competition with multiple awards and a championship trophy. The dance team competition season is in full swing now and the team is going to be very busy this month.



Rattler band members headed for state competition

Members of the San Marcos High School Rattler Band met with success at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition on Feb. 6. They will now compete at the state competition in May.
