Rattlers to open district season

The San Marcos High School baseball team will open the District 17-4A season Wednesday at Hays after the game Tuesday was postponed due to weather. The Rattlers are 9-8 after winning three of five games last weekend at the Austin ISD Tournament.

Huntsville ends two Hays County hoop seasons

The Hays High School girls basketball team and the San Marcos High School boys basketball team both lost their playoff games Tuesday night to Huntsville, ending their seasons.



Weather wipes out sports schedule

Poor weather postponed a number of games Tuesday night, including the Texas State baseball game at Rice. Also, the boys basketball team at San Marcos High School and the girls basketball team at Hays High School had their Tuesday night playoff games postponed to Wednesday night.

San Marcos already knows it’s in the high school boys basketball playoffs with one game left in its regular season. Meanwhile, Hays and Lehman are both fighting for the final playoff spot in District 17-4A, and they won’t both make it.



Rebels split district, lose coin flip

The Hays Rebels finished tied for the girls high school basketball championship in District 17-4A, but lost a coin flip with co-champ Del Valle and will go to College Station next Tuesday to begin the playoffs against Magnolia West. Lehman and San Marcos both finished short of the playoffs in that district.
