Bobcats unbeaten for second straight league season

The Texas State soccer team finished off an undefeated season in the Southland Conference (SLC), clinching the regular season championship with a 3-1 win at home on Oct. 30 against Texas-San Antonio (UTSA).

Texas State lost the Southland Conference baseball tournament championship game, 7-1 to Sam Houston State, Saturday night. Following the loss, the Bobcats awaited a likely at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The underdog Texas State men’s basketball team took an eight-point halftime lead against Nicholls State in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament Thursday in Katy, but Nicholls State rallied at the free throw line and ended the Bobcats’ season.

The Texas State men’s basketball team is in the Southland Conference Tournament, despite a loss at Sam Houston State to end the regular season Saturday. Meanwhile, the women’s team will miss the league tournament for the first time in 19 years.
