Bobcats win softball rubber game at McNeese

The Texas State softball team scored a run in the ninth for a 5-4 win Sunday at McNeese State, giving the Bobcats two wins in the three-game series. The Bobcats are tied with Stephen F. Austin in first place in the Southland Conference.



Jones leads Bobcats to tourney win in Laredo

The men’s golf team at Texas State rallied to defeat a tough field, capturing the Border Olympics last week in Laredo for its first tournament win of the season. Alastair Jones finished fourth overall for the Bobcats, carding a 54-hole 217.



Bobcats could climb at basketball finale

With an 83-76 win Wednesday at Texas-San Antonio, the Texas State men’s basketball team could climb to as high as third when they finish the regular season Saturday. However, they would have to beat league leader Sam Houston State at Strahan Coliseum.



Texas State teams finish sixth, eighth at league track meet

The Texas State women’s track and field team finished sixth during the weekend in the Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Norman, OK. The Texas State men’s team finished eighth in the same meet.



Bobcats 3-10 starting Southland softball season

After losing three of four during the weekend at the Embassy Suites Invitational in Tulsa, the Texas State softball team is 3-10 as it launches the Southland Conference season this week with three games at home against Texas-Arlington.

The Bobcats dropped to 5-5 and seventh place in the Southland Conference. The Texas State women’s basketball team lost for the ninth time in ten league games Wednesday night at home against the Islanders.



Bobcats lose to UTA in men’s hoops

Texas State’s bid to move up in the Southland Conference men’s basketball standings took a blow Saturday, when Texas-Arlington beat them, 82-78, at Strahan Coliseum. The Bobcats are 4-3 in the Southland, tied for fourth place with their next opponent, Southeastern Louisiana.
