The Texas State University System Regents added $79 million worth of projects to the San Marcos campus building plan this week. The heftiest price tag is on a $50 million residence hall that will add 612 beds to campus in 2013.
Texas State University System (TSUS) regents approved the design of a $47.7 million undergraduate academic center Friday, moving ahead with the 130,000-square-foot facility at the university’s south gateway.
Texas State University President Denise Trauth told university faculty and staff Tuesday that Texas State is growing in enrollment, prestige and facilities. The university expects to welcome a record number of students when classes start Wednesday.
Charles R. Matthews, Chancellor of the Texas State University System (TSUS) since February 2005, announced his retirement effective Feb. 1, 2010.
Texas State set a spring record this semester with 27,509 students enrolled. The university is noting increases in minority and graduate student enrollment.
