A variety of activities centering on diabetes will be featured at Central Texas Medical Center’s seminars Tuesday on Diabetes Alert Day. The public is invited to register and attend.

Reading program has well-known volunteers

The San Marcos CISD Child Development Center had some special guest readers recently who volunteered for the Reading Is Fundamental Community Leaders Reading Program. The kids, of course, loved the fire truck.



Fifth grader named student of the month

Hernandez Elementary School fifth grader Drake Driscoll is the San Marcos CISD Superintendent’s Student of the Month for March. Driscoll was nominated for the honor by Hernandez Principal Rosemary Garza.



Rio Vista groundbreaking set for Saturday

The two-year Rio Vista Terrace Neighborhood Improvement Project will kick off with a groundbreaking ceremony at the San Marcos Nature Center Saturday at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend.



Chamber cuts ribbon for River City

River City Bar and Grill were the recent recipients of a ribbon cutting from the Sam Marcos Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. The establishment is located at 4205 South Interstate-35.



Phoenix Academy winners awarded shoes

The reward for a recent Phoenix Academy volleyball tournament was a pair of Nike shoes thanks to a Back Your Block Nike Grant.
