Rattlers place 15 on all-district grid teams

The San Marcos High School football team, which finished the 2009 season with a 3-6 record, still placed 15 players on All-District 27-4A teams due to the individual skills of the players and the overall competitiveness of the ball club.



Rattlers hope to finish with a win

The football teams at San Marcos High School and San Marcos Baptist Academy will try to close out their seasons with wins at home Friday night, while the Wimberley Texans would win their district with a victory at Fredericksburg.



Rattlers make point, miss points

San Marcos came within one two-point conversion of pulling off an improbable win Friday night at Alamo Heights. Also, Hays improved to 2-0 in District 17-4A, while Dripping Springs and San Marcos Baptist Academy ran their losing streaks to six and three games, respectively.



Rattlers match effort, but not talent, in loss to Steele

The San Marcos Rattlers played hard for 48 minutes in their District 27-4A high school football opener Friday night against Cibolo Steele at Bobcat Stadium, but they had no answer for playmakers Malcom Brown and Corey Hill. The Rattlers lost, 44-20.



Rattlers win for first time in a year

In the spirit of recent rains that have soothed one of the worst local droughts in history, the San Marcos Rattlers claimed their first high school football win in a year Friday night, taking the measure of their mirror image in a 33-0 decision against Lampasas at Bobcat Stadium.
