Making his first start in the Southland Conference, Texas State sophomore Carson Smith began with six shutout innings at Sam Houston State Friday night, helping the Bobcats to a 12-5 win.

However, Texas State pitchers have allowed only a .250 batting average against them. The three-game Corpus series begins Friday night and runs through Sunday.



Texas State signs Wright to three-year extension

Texas State announced Tuesday morning that it has signed head football coach Brad Wright to a three-year contract extension. The university also extended the contracts of four other coaches.



Bobcats announce baseball schedule

Bagley leads Bobcats baseball class

Undrafted Brundridge signs with Seattle

Undrafted pitcher Tyler Brundridge beat his four drafted Texas State teammates to a pro contract, signing with the Seattle Mariners. Brundridge has reported the the Mariners’ team in the Rookie-level Arizona League.
